An outdoor summer wedding can be oh-so-romantic. It can also be a trial with all the things there are to deal with including, but not limited to: the weather, location, bugs, dirt, parking and decorating trials.
It is funny the little things you don't think of when planning a outdoor wedding. You are thinking of your dress, the flowers and the cake, and here are a few other things you might consider at the same time:
HEAT - The cake icing may melt in the sun or if you are near water, you may have bugs land in the frosting - eeww! How UNappetizing!
BUGS - What about flowers? Will the bees be trying to land on your bouquet or centerpieces? What if someone gets stung? What about having a bee sting kit on hand?
WATER - If you are near water (lake, creek etc) What about bugs? Mosquitoes? Insect repellant? Will it clash with your perfume? :) Did you know that perfume can actually attract bugs?
SHOES - What will happen when you walk on down the isle? Do your shoes have heels? Will they stick in the grass or poke through the isle runner? Maybe think barefoot, or thongs? Sandals?
DRESS - What about your dress? Does it have a train? Will it be dragging in dirt? Grass stains?
WEATHER - Speaking of weather, what if it rains? (After all, this IS Montana!) Do you have an alternative location lined up? What if the sun is extremely hot? Is there protection with a canopy or umbrellas? What about the food? What if the wind blows really hard as it has been known to do in areas around Livingston?
No, they are not really romantic thoughts, but they are things to consider just the same!
Happy Planning!
